Kind Words

A selection of comments, emails and messages I receive from badasses all over the world.  THIS is why I do what I do, I want to make a difference and inspire those with Ulcerative Colitis, Ostomates and pouchees to keep talking, stay positive and live an awesome life.

This website is here to raise awareness and promote positivity, self esteem and body confidence in everyone, especially those of us dealing with chronic illness.

“I just listened to your talk for womens day at Barnsley it was amazing. I’ve always had huge body image and self esteem issues and it made me cry to hear you talk in such a different and positive way. Thank you so much for letting others hear your story you should be so proud of yourself and your body.
I’ve spent 6 months in an eating disorders unit a few years ago and had loads of therapy to try to change how my mind works about my body but none of it hit home like your talk just did. Thank you x”

“This post is freaking fantastic. I love the line, “I had my bowel removed, I did not become a nun.” When discussing wearing tight fitting clothing. I commend you on what you write in this post. It is informational, fun and also appropriate for a wide audience. Even if you are someone that has never had an ostomy, you can relate to this post. I think one message you are sending here is own your body, own your life. I looooove that!!! Thank you!”

“Your blog has helped me more than you will ever know to get through an awful time in my life. I would lay awake a 3am in hospital just reading and reading thinking I’m not alone I’m not a freak and I can do this. That’s all thanks to you.”

“Sam you should be in schools! My teenage daughter will be watching this when she gets home. INSPIRATIONAL.”

“Wow Sam, I always though you are one awesome lady but you have taken it to another level.
I’m lucky, I’m not ill but I do suffer. I worry all the time that I’m not good enough, not quite up to the mark. Your words struck a chord with me, I have taken great comfort from what you say. Keep going with this Sam because you’re an inspiration and you are making a difference. ”

“You ARE a fucking warrior! What you do, daily, is an amazingly generous thing. You put yourself out there speaking for those who simply can’t. Don’t let anything silence you. Keep talking shit babe!!!”

“Thank you so much for helping me realize today that, while I don’t think of my UC as a “gift” – well, maybe a gag gift – it has taught me some valuable things. Best to you!”

“Thank you so much for posting these beautiful pictures!! My disabled son is having this surgery & I too have been afraid to look online at all the “scary unmanaged” stoma pictures, until I ran across YOU on Pinterest!! You are so lovely & you just made me feel so much better!! Thanks so much honey, keep doing what you’re doing”

” Your posts have been amazing to read, they truly illustrate that there is another way of coping with these things.”

“Yours is the first stoma I’ve seen. You are beautiful. You are sexy. You have a stoma. Soon I’ll have one too. I can still feel beautiful and sexy. Do you have any idea what your photos (and words) have done for me?? ”

Thank you for all your amazing comments
